Montanans are relying on NorthWestern Energy to keep their homes and businesses operating safely.

Montana customer benefits include increased reliability with expanded access to capacity resources when energy demand is high

NorthWestern Energy’s Board of Directors announced that Mystic Lake Dam, about 75 miles southwest of Billings, Montana, is renamed Rowe Dam at Mystic Lake in honor of the dedicated service of CEO Bob Rowe, who is retiring this month.

NorthWestern Energy is upgrading the power lines along 17th Street West in Billings from Rimrock Road to Parkhill Drive. Traffic will be delayed and detoured in the area until Friday, Dec. 9, when the project will be complete.

NorthWestern Corporation d/b/a NorthWestern Energy (Nasdaq: NWE) reported financial results for the three months ended September 30, 2022. Net income for the period was $27.4 million, or $0.47 per diluted share, as compared with net income of $35.2 million, or $0.68 per diluted share, for the same period in 2021. This decrease was primarily due to lower utility margin, higher interest expense, higher administrative and general costs and higher depreciation and depletion. Earnings per share was additionally impacted by higher outstanding share count in the current period.

Traffic will be detoured from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 29 on Lake Helena Road from the intersection with Lincoln and Hauser Dam roads to Rainbow Drive. The detour is required for the safety of the public and our NorthWestern Energy crews while a power pole is replaced.

On Sept. 25 NorthWestern Energy will begin drawing down Rainbow Reservoir about 11 feet from the current full-pool level to replace wooden flash boards on the face of the dam.
