NorthWestern Energy enters into power purchase agreements with Qualifying Facilities pursuant to the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978 (PURPA). Qualifying Facilities up to 3 megawatts in size qualify for standard rates under NorthWestern’s Schedule No. QF-1 (QF-1 Tariff). Qualifying Facilities greater than 3 megawatts are paid a negotiated rate not to exceed avoided cost. For information about negotiated rates, please contact QF@northwestern.com.
